Beginning with a groundbreaking entry into the Chinese grain industry in 1979, Continental Grain Company has been an active innovator in China for nearly three decades. Today, through ContiAsia, the Company participates in a wide range of businesses in China, mainly involving feed milling, animal husbandry, and poultry production and processing. As a large agribusiness presence in China, ContiAsia is comprised of over 30 wholly owned and joint venture companies, all of which function within one of three separate business units: Conti Feed (China) Group, Conti Chia Tai International, and ContiAsia Meat Merchandising.
As part of its on-going business development efforts, ContiAsia participates with Arlon Group LLC in making strategic investments in emerging China agribusiness firms and plays an active role with management to support the growth and development of those businesses.
